ABOUT STARR
Yup, It’s me. Starr with two r’s.
Born in NYC, I toddled all over the rockies, and landed in Seattle just in time for grunge to soundtrack my life. I can't imagine living anywhere else, or at least not permanently. I do have that globe trotting bug, so never say never, but the jewel tones of the PNW really do take my breath away on the regular.
I've been a photographer since i was 15 years old, and shot my first wedding at 18. Most of the guests assumed I was the bride's little sister or cousin, and treated me accordingly. It was during those days I finessed breaking out my New York voice, and still draw on it from time to time to corral a big group picture or some errant family for pics.
I love being part of an industry where art, tech and soul come together to create a true moment in time. My style is candid, creative, vibrant and fresh. I'm primarily a natural light photographer, but I'm highly trained in strobes should the need arise. I've been a professional portrait photographer for almost 33 years, and have recently been photographing the senior portraits and even weddings of the kids of some of my original clients. I find this full circle very meaningful.
